Pension Finder Services

Our targeted approach to finding pension professionals ensures you spend less time looking, and more time planning your retirement solutions.. Our service makes searching for and selecting an advisor simple and easy.

Appointing the right specialist pension advisor is such an important decision. Over the last few years we have assisted many clients to make this decision much easier. In 2011 we assisted over 600 people.

By using our Pension Finder Service, clients are then better placed and more focused to tackle more important detailed pension decisions involving risk, reward, investment decisions and product selection.

We help alleviate any concerns you may have by answering certain questions, including whether the advisor is regulated by the FSA or holds appropriate levels of PI insurance. You can then focus on the personal connection, whether you feel comfortable and confident in the advisor as an individual.

While the advisors focus on building long term relationships, our priority is to support a simple yet profoundly effective introduction. Clients and advisors alike can now get on with what they do best, advising and deciding on effective pension strategies, while building a stronger financial future.

Our Most Popular Pension Requests

Finding an advisor that can help you explore your personal retirement choices, about whether to Purchase An Annuity, invest in Income Drawdown or Phased Retirement Asking questions about which will be the most beneficial and understanding the pros and cons of each before investing.

We receive requests for pension transfer advisors that support individuals when comparing and contrasting one pension arrangement with another. This can either lead to simple internal changes to your existing arrangements or give consideration to transferring to a new pension provider.

Requests involving Group Personal Pensions (GPPs) are normally from employers that are looking to ensure the suitability, viability and efficiency of their current arrangement. Deciding on whether to transfer Group Personal Pension requires in-depth analysis, so get expert advice.

Finally, Self Invested Personal Pension plans (SIPPs) are becoming more popular as a flexible investment structure when planning for retirement. We receive many requests about how to transfer in to and how to get the most out of investing in a SIPP.

THE GUARDIAN

Summary and Popularity of Site

The Guardian website brings it popular newspaper to a worldwide audience and covers every aspect of the news including sport, leisure and business. It is their money page that is being focused on in this review. This site is extremely popular and is ranked inside the top 250 most visited sites in the world and is number 15 in terms of traffic in the UK*.

Site Design

The advantage of having an interactive canvas over a paper one has never been more apparent than on sites such as this one. The money section alone would be bigger than a regular newspaper with its options neatly configured at the top of the page and includes sections on Pensions, Savings and Borrowing. The main headlines are the editor’s picks and they are clearly visible, relatively neatly stacked on the page.

As this is a newspaper site, it has no specific focus, instead giving as much information to as many disparate groups as it can. Job seekers can browse through the ‘fifty steps to finding a new job’ article whilst those intent on saving their money can look at articles which explain to them if their savings are as safe as they think they are as well as an interesting article on ‘The £3bn cash Isa swindle.’

Content

One might expect a national institution to make its information easy to find and the Guardian certainly does that. Each of the sections are completely independent of one another with little or no repeat information to be found. When you go to the pensions section you will see a host of stories such as the alarming news that less than half of people are saving for retirement. A criticism would be that there is an outdated story on the Pension section as an editor’s pick from March 27. However, as the story is so vital (it discusses the new state pension age change for women on April 6) perhaps it can be forgiven for this.

Positives and Summary

The articles are easy to read and are there for advice purposes rather than just straight news stories. The pension section is particularly useful as you get helpful tips on how to save and also allows you to calculate how much you have saved already. The Guardian site is a wonderful resource and its money section is filled with ideas and tips on how to maximise what you already have whilst trying to save more for the future.
