Appointing the right specialist pension advisor is such an important decision. Over the last few years we have assisted many clients to make this decision much easier. In 2011 we assisted over 600 people.

By using our Pension Finder Service, clients are then better placed and more focused to tackle more important detailed pension decisions involving risk, reward, investment decisions and product selection.

We help alleviate any concerns you may have by answering certain questions, including whether the advisor is regulated by the FSA or holds appropriate levels of PI insurance. You can then focus on the personal connection, whether you feel comfortable and confident in the advisor as an individual.

While the advisors focus on building long term relationships, our priority is to support a simple yet profoundly effective introduction. Clients and advisors alike can now get on with what they do best, advising and deciding on effective pension strategies, while building a stronger financial future.

THE ECONOMIST

Summary and Popularity of Site

The Economist is a weekly newspaper which focuses on international politics as well as business news and opinion. It is for the more serious financial minds and is currently just outside the top 2000 most viewed sites in the world*.

Site Design

First impressions of the website on the ‘Business and Finance’ section serve to confirm any suspicions one had about the site. It has a formal look with no room for any fancy design. It is clear that the site is catering to those who like to concentrate fully on financial matters. It doesn’t have a huge amount of sub sections though it has a large number of articles, and all the stories are neatly configured down the page.

Content

There is no doubt that The Economist lives up to its name in terms of focus. From the Greek euro crisis to falling prices in Japan to Financial Reform within the U.S, this site has all worldwide news pertaining to finance. There are other sections such as Science & Technology which talk about the seeming recovery of damaged ecosystems and the benefits of the electric car, but all these stories which are seemingly unconnected to the world of finance are somehow linked.

There is no problem navigating around the site and it seems like there isn’t all that much in terms of information. However, the site is quite deceptive, particularly when one decides to have a look at the ‘Markets’ section. Here, things start to become very complicated indeed and this is the place where the real financial minds will thrive whilst the rest will scurry back to the homepage.

Positives and Summary

The homepage does have some articles that do not relate directly to finance such as an article about the longevity of television. There is also a story on the potential outcome of the British General Election which should appeal to all visitors with even the slightest interest in politics. These articles are well written and researched and are generally quite long, so those with a short attention span need not apply!

The Economist is a serious and highly regarded newspaper and this translates into a website that does a good job of spreading its financial news around the world and commands respect.p>
